President and Treasurer Resignations 2025

The Board of Directors for Judo Saskatchewan would like to let the membership and general public know that the President and Treasurer resigned on Wednesday December 10,2025.

TV Taylor was very dedicated to Judo for the past 30+ years. He respectfully put his heart and soul into being the President. We truly did appreciate your time and commitment to the sport.

Michelle Wiens has been the Treasurer for Judo Saskatchewan since 2022. Michelle has spent countless hours making sure the bills were paid. We thank you for your service.

As these resignations have occurred and will without a doubt leave a void the remaining 7 members will be stepping up. According to our bylaws Jim Wiens the current Vice President should assume the role as President. At the time of this release it has not been confirmed if he is accepting the position.

We would like to let the membership and public know that Judo Saskatchewan has and will continue to be a safe, caring, supportive organization. Our number one priority is your kids, our athletes and the membership.

We are working hard to make Judo Saskatchewan a transparent, caring organization that every parent, coach, kid, athlete, grandparent is proud to say they are a part of.

Please give us the grace to work through this process. We hope to address all concerns in the near future under the guidance and support of Sask Sport. More information will become available once it has passed through all the respective channels. Thank you for your patience.

Our Judo Sask community is grieving once again after the heartbreaking loss of a young judoka. On October 18, 2025, we lost Nathaniel Russell Lyons Burton (Nate) — a beloved member of our judo family.  Nathaniel Russell Lyons Burton

As shared by his family, Nate passed away at just 21 years old. He was dearly loved and will be forever remembered for his compassion, wit, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

This loss deeply impacts not only members of the Shinmura and University of Regina Judo communities, but also creates a profound ripple across our entire province. Nate was a dedicated High Performance team member for many years and an integral part of the Battleford Judo community. His presence, energy, and friendship touched so many lives.

We are a strong and connected judo family, and now more than ever, we must come together to support one another — on and off the mats.

With heartfelt sympathy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pense Town Hall, 300 Brunswick St, Pense, SK, this Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
